API Compatibility

PAPI
PAPI is fully compatible between CloudView 5 and CloudView V6R2012x
Search API
To use the new CloudView V6R2012x features, you must use a CloudView V6R2012x search client.
The CloudView V6R2012x can perform searches on a CloudView 5.X product, but does not support CloudView 4.6 anymore
The XMLv10ArgRequestEnvelope/ResponseEnvelope search methods are no longer supported.
MAMI
Many MAMI calls and configuration elements have changed. Please refer to the configuration reference.
The main MAMI client has also changed. Replace com.exalead.mercury.mami with com.exalead.cloudview.mami
Licensing
CloudView 4.6 and 5.X licenses do not work on CloudView V6R2012x.
You should have received a V6R2012x-compatible license together with this kit. Please contact your Exalead Sales Representative.
Known bugs
Indexing
Documents partial update is not functional
The chart of "pushed tasks" on the home page sometimes can have abnormal spikes after a build group clear
Search
Truncation operation on meta does not work
Using extremely large memory values for PageCache sometimes trigger a crash
The title of refined categories is not taken into account for highlighting
When doing very fast indexing and high QPS at the same time, the index can crash
Connectors
.NET connectors (Exchange, SharePoint) are not yet functional
Crawler Administration UI, only if you want to change the crawled file extensions: "Include" and "Exclude" are inverted
Business console
Configuration import does not work
Business console rules do not reload automatically if there is not a MashupAPI on the same SearchServer
Mashup
Mashup UI does not work on HTTPS. Using a reverse proxy is the recommended workaround.
Misc
Using Java 7 for the MAMI client does not work
OS-specific bugs
Solaris x64
On Solaris, you must set your locale to "C" or "POSIX" before starting CloudView to avoid trouble related to floating point values.
ZFS filesystem is not supported
Redhat 6
The installer will wrongfully complain that "gd i386" is not installed. Follow the instructions in the CloudView Getting Started Guide and ignore the warning.
